Free Radio (network) - Free

On 6 May 2016, the network's owners, Orion, announced they had been bought by Bauer for an undisclosed fee, reportedly between £40 and £50 million. As of August 2016, Free is aligned with the Hits Radio network, with the four stations beginning to carry networked programming from Hits Radio's Manchester headquarters in February 2017.

Free Radio (network) - Free

On 9 January 2012, Orion announced that it would rebrand its four West Midlands stations as Free from March 2012 onwards. The former on-air station brands were phased out on Wednesday 21 March 2012 in preparation for the rebrand, which took place on Monday 26 March 2012 at 7pm.

Free Radio (network) - Free

In May 2019, following OFCOM's decision to relax local content obligations from commercial radio, Bauer announced it would cease local programming for two Free stations in Shropshire & the Black Country and in Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

Free Radio (network) - Free

As of 8 July 2019, Free carries two separate breakfast shows - one for the Birmingham, Black Country and Shropshire areas and a second for Coventry, Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The four local drivetime shows were replaced by a single regional programme for the West Midlands, presented by Andy Goulding. Local news bulletins, traffic updates and advertising for the four licence areas are retained. Local weekend afternoon programming were replaced with additional network programming from Manchester.

Free Geek - Free software

Free Geek's refurbished computers run Linux Mint, Ubuntu and other free and open-source software. The use of free software has several major benefits to the organization, and to the recipients of equipment: Minimal need to manage software licenses, and may install software with minimal legal considerations; and computer recipients get a wide range of software, which they can easily expand without paying money or entering into restrictive contracts.

Free object - Free functor

The free functor F, when it exists, is the left adjoint to U. That is, takes sets X in Set to their corresponding free objects F(X) in the category C. The set X can be thought of as the set of "generators" of the free object F(X).

Free object - Free functor

For the free functor to be a left adjoint, one must also have a Set-morphism. More explicitly, F is, up to isomorphisms in C, characterized by the following universal property: :Whenever A is an algebra in C, and g : X → U(A) is a function (a morphism in the category of sets), then there is a unique C-morphism h : F(X) → A such that U(h)∘η = g.

Free object - Free functor

The most general setting for a free object is in category theory, where one defines a functor, the free functor, that is the left adjoint to the forgetful functor.

Free (band) - After Free

After parting with Bad Company in 1982 Rodgers went on to explore the heavy blues stylings of Free again in his solo career during the 1980s and 1990s, and in the bands The Firm and The Law. Subsequently, Rodgers joined two of the three remaining members of Queen (Brian May and Roger Taylor), as vocalist. In September 2008, Queen + Paul Rodgers released their first studio album The Cosmos Rocks. Rodgers also performed Free and Bad Company songs whilst on tour with Queen, in addition to the traditional Queen songs and new cuts from their most recently released album.

Free monoid - Free hull

The defect theorem states that if X is finite and C is the free hull of X, then either X is a code and C = X, or

Free Geek - Free software

Free Geek was a joint winner of the first Chris Nicol FOSS Prize awarded by the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) in 2007.

Free object - Free functor

Concretely, this sends a set into the free object on that set; it is the "inclusion of a basis". Abusing notation, X \to F(X) (this abuses notation because X is a set, while F(X) is an algebra; correctly, it is ).

Sweatshop-free - Sweatshop-free

Take American Apparel as an example, they provide all employees and their families lots of employee benefits including health insurance, parking, subsidised public transport, subsidised lunches, free on site massages, a bike lending program, a program of paid days off as well as opening an onside medical clinic for their employees. American Apparel make sure that their workers are treated fairly and working in a good working conditions. They pay average skilled-sewers 25,000 US dollar per year and 12 US dollar per hour that twice the national minimum wage, which is in big contrast to 25p per hour wage commonly found in sweatshop factories abroad.

Free (band) - After Free

Rodgers and Kirke toured again with Bad Company from 2012 to 2016. Andy Fraser died on 16 March 2015. In 2017, Paul Rodgers embarked on a Free Spirit UK Tour in May 2017 to celebrate the music of Free by performing songs strictly from the Free catalogue.

Free monoid - Free hull

The intersection of free submonoids of a free monoid A ∗ is again free. If S is a subset of a free monoid A* then the intersection of all free submonoids of A* containing S is well-defined, since A* itself is free, and contains S; it is a free monoid. A basis for this intersection is the free hull of S.

Arvand Free Zone - Visa-free

Holders of normal passports travelling as tourists can enter Arvand Free Zone without a visa with maximum stay of 2 weeks (extendable), as by December 2017.

Free Radio (network) - Free 80s

On 24 May 2012, Orion Media announced it would relaunch its Gold West Midlands stations on AM frequencies and DAB as Free 80s. Free Burghers - Free burgher status

Some of the men received limited free burgher status with conditions favourable to both the VOC and the applicant. Limited in terms of the duration of term which the applicant would be allowed to maintain free burgher status. The duration of the five who were enrolled as free burghers in September 1657 is as follows:

Free lunch - Free-lunch fiend

In American saloon bars from the late 19th century until Prohibition, bouncers had, in addition to their role of removing drunks who were too intoxicated to keep buying drinks, fighters, and troublemakers, the unusual role of protecting the saloon's free buffet. To attract business, "...many saloons lured customers with offers of a "free lunch"—usually well salted to inspire drinking, and the saloon "bouncer" was generally on hand to discourage [those with too] hearty appetites".

Free range - Free-range livestock

Traditional American usage equates "free range" with "unfenced," and with the implication that there was no herdsman keeping them together or managing them in any way. Legally, a free-range jurisdiction allowed livestock (perhaps only of a few named species) to run free, and the owner was not liable for any damage they caused. In such jurisdictions, people who wished to avoid damage by livestock had to fence them out; in others, the owners had to fence them in.
